The image of the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League in describing how Highlanders FC and Dynamos have started their campaign of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League in Zimbabwean football

The Battle of Zimbabwe retained its infamous trait of being highly emotive as week 25 was action-packed with a round of intriguing fixtures.

Highlanders FC were faced with an ominous likelihood of perpetuating their winless and scoreless streak, until they returned one back when Dynamos were leading 1-0 at the Rufaro Stadium. The match ended up with tempers flaring, which saw Dynamos’ chief forward Christian Eupopa Ntouba given marching orders after he had head-butted Peter Muduhwa.

Triangle beat Hwange 3-1 while Caps United restored their pride by beating Bantu Rovers with the same scoreline.

Chicken Inn’s winning streak was halted by Yadah Stars, with the latter triumphing 2-1. FC Platinum kept the pressure on by beating How Mine 2-1.

Black Rhinos drew 1-1 with Bulawayo City, Chapungu drew with Shabanie 1-1 too and there was a scoreless draw between Tsholotsho and ZPC Kariba.

Confusion has hovered around the issue of Eupopa’s red card, but the PSL have cleared the air by saying that his red card still stands.

Chicken Inn and FC Platinum lead the pack on 51 points each; Dynamos and Ngezi Platinum closely follow with 49 points each.

Hwange, Tsholotsho and Bantu Rovers remain stuck at the bottom.
