Rising Gospel musician Hannah Mapepeta released a video titled Nerudo RwaMwari from her album Chikepe, a video resonating the unending, unbreakable and powerful love of God.
Nerudo RwaMwari is eight minutes long, perfectly fitting the depth of the message that is contained in the video. It seems the lyrics come from Romans 8:38-39 in which the great apostle Paul says, “For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come; nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is Christ Jesus our Lord.” Sung in both Shona and English, the lyrics go perfectly in line with this verse.
The backing vocalists do their best in making the video teem with life. Everything in the video is well orchestrated. The backing vocalists’ unity symbolizes the same love that God has with His people. Going with a soft beat, it is that one Gospel video that speaks a contemporary message, that in the times we are living, God’s love still reigns supreme. Hannah, with her deep voice, brings forth the idea that in the midst of harsh times, nothing shall ever separate us from the love of God.
Her expressions in the video speak of a person who has been overwhelmed by the love of God, a supernatural love that is undying.
