The night of Friday the 29th of June was one to remember as Mussa Effect claimed his seat with the greats at Latin Friday, a fashion show put together by Catleya Lifestyle and NV held once every 2 months celebrating fashion, music and Latin culture.
The event kicked off at 9pm with a number of local fashion designers like Nandi fashions, Catleya and TNG showcasing their amazing winter collections. H20, High Culture and Sacha were some of the artists performing at the event but we were simply mind-blown when Afro fusion artist Mussa Effect took the stage with Dylan Maestro (lead guitarist) and C Bleech (Mussa Effect’s producer).
Mussa sampled 2 songs titled Magumo and Ndide from his debut album Effected: Humba Makombe to be released on 25 August. Mussa Effect is truly one of the artists to look out for in Zimbabwe.
“I wanted to see how people would react to this new music. My team and I really didn’t know what to expect and the response from Latin Friday left us all really excited about releasing this project. I personally hope they like the rest of the project,” said Mussa.
On the red carpet Mussa was barefoot and dressed in a black kimono with a hood designed by Nandi Fashions. Then we saw him in a zebra print shirt and shorts when he went on stage to perform.
His style impresses some people, while others will be evidently trying to come to terms with it.
