The journey has been long enough for the 22 year old Natasha Muz hence she is now reaping the fruits of her intense input. It is commendable how she has negotiated success in a male dominated music industry in Zimbabwe, worse still hip hop, a rising genre.
Earlier in 2018, the gods smiled on her and she released a banger, Handisi Tsaga. The hit song steered her fame in the streets, and eventually became the queen of the game. It has been spectacular to see a young prospect seize the crown from seasoned female rappers in the name of Kikky Badass, Tiara, Trae Yung amongst others.
Natasha Muz walked away with the best female act at the CMELA awards, which are exclusively for Chitungwiza chanters and celebs. However this was just a curtain raiser as the year would end with her being recognized as the Best Female 2018 at the Zim Hip Hop awards.
The classic Handisi Tsaga was the only female voice on the song of the year category, it provided good competition but could not topple Mambo by Asaph. Natasha went on to reward fans with a sizzling gangster like video revealing her other side, admirable still.
Natasha Muz is famous for her energetic stage performances which makes her the most sought after femcee , she dishes out value for money displays. The energy and hype in her songs depict the rebirth of rebel woman, the art which was exhibited by Chiwoniso and what Zimbabwe has been missing for quite a time.
Natasha’s versatility is also integral in her phenomenal rise. She is the queen in ZimHipHop yet she is also a firm challenge to the likes of Selmor Mtukudzi, her song Wandakada is a spectacular Afro Jazz sound.
Her outstandingly melodic voice is also a significant factor in her rise. She has helped other rappers come up with tuneful songs for instance, Stunner on Muroyi Wehama, Ti gonzi on When I make it, Mudiwa and also Team Bhoo. Her angelic voice is so marketable henceforth every hip hop artist is making a date with her. The above collaborations show how her hustle is not affected by feuds in the genre and as of yet there is no news about her beefing with anyone, a woman of substance. In one interview published on YouTube Natasha revealed her desires to work with Takura as well which is deemed as a healthy move for their careers.
She is an avid social commentator biased towards love and relationships, surely her products can motivate your heart. Her song Why Uchindiita So will make you want to be bullied in a relationship so that you are able to relate.
More is expected this year from the fast rising, versatile and lyrically clean queen.
