Khama Billiat’s move from Mamelodi Sundowns to Kaizer Chiefs makes him the highest earner in the South Africa Absa Premier Soccer League.
Khama Billiat is reportedly earning a massive R10 million before tax, in a three-year contract that he signed with Kaizer Chiefs, with an option for a further year.
Footballers are taxed at 38%, so from the R833 333 he gets per month, his actual taking will be R515 000 a month. That’s a lot of money really. It’s a comfortable earning for him.
And obviously Kaizer Chiefs are over-delighted to have enlisted their services as they seek to find their lost fortunes in South Africa’s top flight league. What prompted his move, as siad by Pitso Mosimane, Sundowns’ coach, is that his demands had become too much for Mamelodi Sundowns to satisfy.
That’s when money solves the problem.
Pretty much like the Ronaldo situation with Real Madrid, and him finally moving to Italian giants Juventus FC.
In Khama Billiat, we have a treasure. He is one of the most sought-after forwards in Africa. It is reported that he declined an offer from Egyptian giants Zamalek.
What Khama Billiat will be earning at Kaizer Chiefs is testimony to his excellent footballing.
Not to deify him, but the R10 million he will be earning at Kaizer Chiefs is an amount many players are craving for daily.
