Ten local schools and two foreign schools from neighbouring South Africa will converge at St George’s College in Harare for the CABS T20 Cricket Tournament that will be held from 8-10 September 2017.
The sports director at St George’s, Alan Macdonald confirmed this and said that preparations were at and advanced stage. He said that the preparations were on track and that a strong line-up of schools had already been confirmed as participants at the cricket tournament that will show who reigns supreme in school cricket when it comes to the shorter format of the game.
“We welcome Zimbabwean sides St John’s College, Peterhouse, Prince Edward, Churchill, Gateway, Kyle College, Hellenic Academy, Falcon College and CBC, as well as St Charles and St Benedicts from South Africa. As usual, several corporate firms have confirmed their sponsorship and will be watching the action and entertaining clients and suppliers in their tents,” Macdonald said, encouraging corporate partners and other firms to show their presence at the event if they want to improve their brand images.
T20 cricket has gained a lot of traction worldwide and it attracts huge crowds. The St George’s T20 cricket tournament is arguably the biggest one among Zimbabwean schools and CABS is its biggest sponsor.
