Thabani Ndlovu famously known as Buffalo Souljah is a South Africa-based Zimbabwean dancehall and reggae recording artist. He is also boss at the U.N.A (United Nations of Africa) music group.
Big Buff, as he is affectionately known by his fans, is renowned for his unending love to promote other artists, upcoming artists specifically. Queen Vee, another South Africa-based songbird, was recruited by Buffalo Souljah in 2009 and joined the U.N.A stable. The duo in 2015 produced a club banger thirsty adding on to their successful partnership.
Buffalo Souljah has worked with several artists notably Nasty C at the Coke studio, Winky D and Diamond Platinumz, the leaders of the game in African music.
Buffalo Souljah is the only Zimbabwean artist to win multiple Channel O music video awards (6). Throughout his career he has amassed various awards and nominations on the coveted African platforms such as AFRIMA, SOUND CITY music awards and won Africa best dancehall in Texas U.S.
Locally he has been honored at the Zimdancehall Awards and ZIMA. The recent years have seen Big Buff giving respect to his roots and coming back several times to support local artists.
Up to this day his duet with Winky D, Rugare, is still a major hit on the streets ever since its release in 2017; the effort was recognized as the best video for 2017 at the Coke music awards on local television station ZBC TV.
Buffalo Souljah collaborated with Kinnah aka Mr Mbare on a song Gwenya and the HKD Boss Freeman on Munamato. The projects were successful locally and regionally and were rewarded with airplay on Trace Africa and Channel O.
In 2017 the Mufakose-bred musician embarked on a campaign to get recognition in the country which is well emphasized by the above projects to promote the U.N.A label. He went on to grace Winky D’s album launch Gombwe in February last year which many viewed as a plausible gesture.
The exemplary local music ambassador mesmerized Zimdancehall fans with a priceless appearance and performance at the Zimdancehall 2018 shutdown held on the 31st of December last year.
This year there is an exciting project to be released and this one involves the country’s hot red Enzo Ishall, who has been belting hits after hits beyond anyone’s expectation. Enzo Ishall, who is currently riding high with 50 magate, is already working with Buffalo Souljah for another promising duet and the trailer of the song has left Zimdancehall fans wagging tongues.
The song will be produced by Chillspot Records, the Zimdancehall headquarters. This witty move by Big Buff is well calculated since the musician has been crying for recognition of his efforts and embracing Enzo will yield valuable appreciation across the country.
The reggae-dancehall artist is famous for his hits Ezandlha Phezulu, Soja Riripo which features Maneta on the video, Turn Up and belong with Nasty C.
The 38 year old’s love and patriotism towards Zimbabwe’s local music is both outstanding and overwhelming.
